I wanted to alter the default indent from 8 to 4 spaces in Nano so i let a mate do this for me as i was very busy.
But when i fired up my desktop computer the next day i opened a terminal and noticed the following
just above the commands in Nano:

Code:
        [ Mistakes in '/etc/nanorc' ]

I also noticed that when i opened a terminal The prompt was on two lines like so:

Code:
        jakey@mxLinux:~
       $

What has this fool of a mate done and how can i put things back to normal anyone please.
