mrplot and Gruff japanese

I am testing mrplot and gruff to dynamically create some graphs and they
both work great. The only problem I have is that I am unable to display
Japanese text in the graphs. I need the labels to be in Japanese (UTF8
in linux or SJIS in windows).

Is there any way to get these two to display Japanese text??
