I am having a problem with my 2003 servers not closing MS Access processes
when logged in under the user account. My current setup is a ASP front-end
with an Access back-end. When a user tries to run a report a process is
opened. However, the process never closes and after about an hour of this the
server grinds to a halt.
I do not believe that it is a problem with failing to close a connection
in the code because I use the exact same setup on 2000 servers and it works
fine. I have tried giving the user full permisions on the folder that holds
the database. I have also changed the MS Access Application to run as
administrator in DCOMCNFG. None of this has helped. I have two 2003 servers
with SP1 and three without and I have the same problem on all of them.
Has anyone come across this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have already asked this question in the 2003 Server General Discussion
Newsgroup and the ASP Database Newsgroup and they have directed me here.
Thanks,
Neal
