Hi. I'm trying to make MSMQ work, so I go to Control Panel, Windows
Components, I select MSMQ (Message Queuing Client Setup, actually) and about
half-way through I get a nice message box saying
The MSMQ service cannot be started.
Error code: 0x42C
The Dependency service or group failed to start.
If I acknowledge, the "installation" continues as if nothing happened, but
in the end nothing has been installed.
1. Which dependencies ? I checked on the net the dependencies of MSMQ and
the only hit I got was saying "Install Microsoft Message Queuing (MSMQ):
If you install Microsoft Message Queuing (MSMQ) to your system using XPlite
Professional you will also be required to install the following components
that Microsoft Message Queuing (MSMQ) requires: Remote Access Dial-Up
Support"
This dependency seems to me as being odd, to say the least. Dial-Up Support
????
2. The problem is maybe an existing system service which is disabled at the
moment ? Which one ? I look in Component Services and I see nothing
peculiar.
The following services are disabled (not manual, but disabled) on my
computer:
Alerter
ClipBook
Computer Browser
Creative Service for CDRom Access
DNS Client
Error Reporting Service
Fast User Switching Compatibility
iPod Service
IPSEC Service
Messenger
MSSQLServerOlapService
Network DDE
Network DDE DSDM
Network Location Awareness
Remote Registry
Routing and Remote Access
Secondary Logon
Server
SSDP Discovery Service
TCPIP Netbios Helper
Terminal Services
Themes
Web Client
Windows Time
Wireless Zero Configuration
WMDM PMSP Service
I also looked in GPEdit.... Nothing there...
I have XPPro with the latest patches. The same for VS.Net, SQLServer....
Thank you, Alex.
