MS's Visio.Net

I intend to buy MS's Visio.NET
There are two packages :
*Visual Studio .NET theSpoke Premium Version 2003 (3800yens)(要
学生認証)
*Visual Studio .NET Standard Version 2003 (25000yens)

What is the difference between them (not the price I mean)?

Another question: when will they have new version of .net ? Will it be
released this year ?
Thanks

The title is misleading! Visio and Visual Studio are completely
different products. Visio is a diagram editor, VS is the IDE.

Personally, I bought the "standard" version, which does not have an
optimizing C++ compiler, but does have C++ .net.

I also downloaded the free 2005 Beta from microsoft, which also does not
have an optimizing compiler.

Then I "patched" my standard 2003 with the free download of Visual C++
toolkit.2003 which does have an optimizing compiler, saving myself a few
hundred pounds.

If you want mainly .net, or aren't writing commercial or performance
critical products, you don't need the native optimizing compiler.

These are not Visio.

Assuming that "Visio" was a typo, the current Standard package is missing an optimising
compiler. There are probably other IDE differences too.

..NET 2.0 and Visual Studio 2005 are expected around September this year. The differences
between the various VS 2005 packages as they are so far (this may change):

http://lab.msdn.microsoft.com/vs2005/productinfo/productline/default.aspx

You can download the latest VC++ 2005 express edition beta for free.

Also VS 2005 Standard and Express will have an optimising compiler.
