Hi:

Can port 80 be used for network application to communicate with server
which is serving what the client is expecting ?

Any disadvantages of designing application using this method.
Application will use pure sockets no HTTP.

Thanks.

This has what, exactly, to do with programming in C? Before answering
you should realise that standard C has NO networking support and
therefore the only possible answer is that your question has absolutely
NOTHING to do with the topic of this group.

but port 80 is the port where most of system services are defaulted.

1) Provide CONTEXT with your post. Search the group for instructions.
2) You are providing an incorrect and off topic to an off topic question
(exactly ONE service on each server I have configured as defaulted to
port 80). Your answer does not belong here any more than the original
question does.
