You have to install the 'python-tools' RPM which
is a part of the distribution (but is not installed
by default IIRC).

If you want to use IDLE (good idea) then I would
highly recommend that you upgrade to the 2.3.3 RPM

http://www.python.org/2.3.3/rpms.html

which has the latest version of IDLE already
installed and ready to go. IDLE 1.0.2 has many
improvements over IDLE 0.8.
