i am a newbie to the world of Ruby, i intend to use ruby in testing
my web application. i dont know where to start with please help.

any sample examples how ruby was used in testing web applications
would also help.

You might want to use something like ScRubyt (http://scrubyt.org/) or
Mechanize (http://rubyforge.org/projects/mechanize/).
