Pay per click - Questions for a consumer site - Please help

I am new to this...and clueless!

1. I am trying to find out how much it costs for different keywords
(pay per click ads).

I went to Google, but could not find out what it costs. Does one have
to register with Google being getting this info

I would like to find out the costs in MSN, Yahoo etc..if they have pay
per cick

2. Also wanted to find out how many people have keyed in certain
keywords in a month at each site.

3. Any statistics on how many (percentage of) people typically who type
in certain keywords click on the ad on the side ?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thank you very much.

As far as Google's concerned, answers to many of those questions become
available as you set up your account.

There is no need to complete the sign up first time round, you can exit the
process having gone through the experience of setting up an account and
discovering for yourself what the costs would be, what keywords are
associated with yours and what any given click price would buy you.

Then, once you've assimilated the information that you've found, you can do
it for real with a better idea of what you're doing.

Any decisions that you make can be changed later and you can suspend your
account at any time. Give it a try, invest ¤cy;10 maximum spend for a
day and see what that buys you. The results are scalable, if 10 whatevers
buys you some clicks, you can be fairly sure that 20 will buy you roughly
twice as many. Then you work out the ROI and decide whether to carry on.
