Popup through screensaver?

Can anyone tell me how to make a popup visible while the screensaver
is running in C++?

I work on a PC at a customers site with my laptop next to me. My
laptop has to have a screensaver running for tech reasons. I want to
know when mail arrives at a glance without having to constantly tap on
the keyboard or move the mouse.

There is no way using the means of Standard C++, the topic of this
newsgroup. You need to ask in a newsgroup dedicated to your OS,
because screensavers are OS-specific.

A hint: you can set your system to notify you by playing a particular
sound when new mail arrives.

Thanks but I cannot use sound on customer sites. This is considered
rude as people are working around me. I will try another OS specific
group.
