Predict Sales - Support Vector Machines??

I wanna predict sales using Python and Machine Learning. Now, is using support vector machines a good idea?

So turns out this is not a good idea at all. I will use random forest regression instead. Can you help me about this? Because all the examples include retrieving data from .csv files and I wanna retrieve data from sql databases instead.
