Pro and Express

First installed Express version. And now I'll buy the VS2k8 Pro. Can be
installed over the express? Should I uninstall express before?

Thanks!

Don't worry about it. They both install fine together. In fact, for
teaching purposes, I routinely have express and full on the same machine.

NOTE, however, that you should reapply the service pack.

The only reason I might uninstall is if you would be hurting for space
afterwards. If you are going to uninstall, do it first, but I see no reason
to uninstall.

Time would be a good reason, in my book. It takes up some space, which
might be another reason to uninstall, but only marginally a reason.
Otherwise, very few of the components are not used by Visual Studio and
installed in the same place, as they are the same components.

In fact, if the Visual Studio version is standard, the bits installed are
like installing Visual C# Express, Visual Basic Express and VWD Express.
Pro adds even more.

The entire install is modular.

My suggestion is don't uninstall, as you are not saving much and you are
wasting a lot of time.

I just posted a blog entry on Express and Visual Studio relating to your
question here:
