Problems with IE...

Dr. Compynei

Hi All (again).

Thanks to all on this group who have helped me see the error of my ways and
I now almost have a functioning website!

If you view this in firefox:
http://www.blt.org.uk/css/index.html

It works exactly as It should. Viewed in IE it seems to lose the header
images. These are defined in CSS. Anyway of getting around this?

Many thanks once again!!

And in iCab which complains that:

http://www.blt.org.uk/css/index.html

the tag was implicitly closed before.
HTML error (28/6): The tag <R> is unknown in this HTML standard.
HTML error (28/10): The tag</R> is unknown in this HTML standard.
HTML error (28/10): Can¹t find start tag for end tag </R>. Maybe

HTML error (54/106): The tag</R> is unknown in this HTML standard.

the tag was implicitly closed before.

for starters.

Use a validator to check your HTML too. I think it is time for
you to seriously consider the 4.01 Strict. It is actually simpler
to use.

Indeed. <l> will be available in XHTML 2.0, but as far as I'm aware, no
version of HTML has ever allowed an <r> element.
