Problems with page aspx

Silvia

Hi

I have a windows service that run a aspx page in the url
http://ip/raimserver/ris/cpr002.asxp with user and password and produce an
error:
Time-Out sending request. RIS server can be down. Exception is
:System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (401)
Unauthorized.

I have windows 2000 and IIS 5

In IIS logs I see that the user doesn't arrive.

What's the function of user ASPNET, this user I think that is created when
install framework of .net its true?? but in my instalation this user doesn't
exists.

Anybody can help me?

Thanks

Silvia

Hi Silvia,

Yes , the ASPNET user is created when you install the .NET framework on your
machine.
Since you are saying that you are not able to find ASPNET user in your
machine i would suggest you
to reinstall the .NET framework.

This worker process is aspnet_wp.exe which hosts the CLR. By default the
worker process
runs under an ASPNET account. This local account is created when the ASP.NET
framework
is installed. Unlike the SYSTEM account, which is very powerful, the ASPNET
account has very limited privileges.

I guess this solves all your problems

For you knowledge:

Hope this helps you.
