Hi,
I created a new web C# project & solution in Visual Studio dotnet, and I
noticed that a web folder got created with the name of the project, and that
folder has a tiny green icon on it that I guess is a globe.
I assumed that the green icon meant that it was a virtual folder, but when I
copied an older dotnet project into C:\Inetpub\wwwroot and created a virtual
folder for it, it did *not* create a web folder. Also, I had to enable
writing and directory listing for the virtual dir in order to be able to add
new items to my project.
I have a few questions:
Where can I access/alter info about the web folders? I can't find anything
in the registry.
What does the green icon mean?
Am I supposed to use web folders to allow V. S. dotnet to view and add items
to a web project, or is there any drawback to using the virtual directory to
create the permissions?
Thanks for any help -- also, if I'm on the wrong newsgroup, kindly point me
in the right direction.
