RedCloth Disrespectful to Quotation Marks?

Hi,

I'm still pretty green, but it seems to me that RedCloth is mistreating
my quotation marks. The problem seems to arrive with double opening
quotes --> " <-- followed by a single quote --> ', as in this line from
Donald Barthelme's The King of Jazz:

"What're we playing?"

"'Billie's Bounce.'" <-----

"That's what I thought it was. What're we in?"

The quotes at the end of the sentence come out right, but the ones at
the beginning are closing quotes as well. Is this a legitimate bug? Any
advice?
