ruby gooeys

Iain Barnett

Hi,

I'm looking for recommendations on GUI's. Primarily OSX, I'm not =
bothered at all about it working on Windows.

I don't care if it's Ruby or JRuby or MacRuby (which I've been trying =
with varied success), just that it works. That's really the problem, =
nothing I've tried works and is straightforward.

There's quite a selection so any suggestions are very welcome.

Regards,

Is should say, something that will work with Ruby 1.9.2 if possible, =
that's where Shoes fell down for me.

Thanks, I'm just trying to get it to compile. Once I've worked out what =
the issue with that is then I'll give it a whirl.

Yep, we'll be targeting 1.9.2 for Shoes 3.1.

That's brilliant, Shoes looked really good... until I tried it with the =
app I'd just written with only 1.9.2 goodness baked in :(

Is there a timeline to follow for this, as I couldn't find one on the =
Shoes site?

Regards,
Iain=

I use wxRuby for my GUI apps. I am not sure about Mac but I have great
success with both Windows and Linux.

thanks,

That news was wrong. Lyle Johnson has stopped contributing to FXRuby for
some other reason.
FOX development is not dead Jeron is still alive :)

Is there a timeline to follow for this, as I couldn't find one on the Shoes site?

Because we only have three our four contributors, and Shoes is
nobody's full time thing, we haven't set a firm date. There isn't a
'timeline' document currently, as one of the things on my to-do list
is 'work on the shoes wiki' (which is here:
http://github.com/shoes/shoes/wiki ). So.... hopefully soon?
