I'm looking for an online c++ course for which I can transfer the credit to
my local city college. I've looked around and they all seem to offer
programs which include it as part of the degree package their hawking. Any
opinions on something that is reputable, with quality, affordable and most
of all accredited so I can transfer the completion of the one course only?

Thanks in advance!

Why not start with the college? IMO there's no better
way to learn than by being able to interact 'face-to-face'
with an instructor, tutor, or mentor.

There are many many online courses available that imo do
more harm than good. Be sure to thoroughly check out
those you're considering.

I'd stay with a course offered by a reputable learning institution.
One such is University of Phoenix. http://onl.uophx.edu/default.aspx
I'm sure there are many more.

Troy University offers accredited computer courses online (C++ included) as
part of their CS degree program. Very reasonable fees and these courses
should transfer to any accredited CS program.

I'm not familiar with that one, so I can't comment upon
its quality or 'legitimacy'. But be sure to get a precise
definition of what they mean by 'accredited'. This term is
very often abused, and used as a 'buzzword', with no actual
useful meaning.

The only way to know if a passing particular course earns 'credits'
which some other institution will accept as 'valid', is to ask this
other institution.

One of the simplest ways to determine whether a program offers legitimate
transferable credit hours is to find out if Federal Pell Grants are offered
by the institution in question. Credit hours from schools offering Federal
Financial Aid usually transfer easily to other similar programs... An
illegitimate program will not be supported by Federal Pell Grants.

"Usually" being the keyword. Follow Mike's advice. Get the status from the
*receiving* institution!! Before, not after, taking the course. A few
hours invested here in investigation can pay off in several hundreds of
hours of more or less wasted time.
