Scope for C/C++

C

I am currently a fresher and recently inducted into Accenture as an
SAP/ABAP technical consultant. However, I am more interested in systems
programming using general purpose languages like C/C++. Will this be a
wrong career move? My colleagues have said that SAP is hot and a
reverse osmosis to C/C++ makes no sense. However, I'm deeply passionate
about low level coding and ABAP simply doesn't appeal to me.
What say?

First of all change ur name from cat, dog, ass like animals and come to
human world. If u want to change ur working domain starting is the best
place, otherwise after 6 months or 1 year when u try to change company,
ur experience in that field will be counted and u will get offer of job
on that domain only. Other option is if u r fresher now, and can search
for job in c/c++ side simultaneously with ur current job, then go for
that. It depends on ur priority- company or early money. Accenture is a
very good company. Best luck

First of all, context and attribution are much appreciated in this
group. Proper usage of language would also be welcome.

And finally, Accenture is such a good company that none I know could
remain there after 3 years (too much houres, too little money). At
least in Spain they have an "Anual staff rotation" [1] of 33%. Some
simple math shows that the average stay is 3 years.

My advice, run, run as fast and as far as you can. Run away from
Accenture.

[1] Direct translation from spanish, basicly the percentage of people
that leave the company each year and that must be replaced by someone
new.

....or Accidenture as it is known in the field ;)

but really this is OT - if you want career advice go somewhere else.

FYI, the equivalent English word is "turnover".

I've got a recruitment advert here.

There's a picture of Tiger Woods, and the line reads

Head Start. High Performers start here.

Accenture is one of the world's leading management consulting, technology
services and outsourcing companies. We help out clients become
high-performance businesses by delivering innovation. ...

Go on. Be a Tiger.

Accenture. High performance. Delivered.

Of course, as the advert implicitly admits, these aren't the things most
young men aspire to. They want to be professional sportsmen.

On the other hand the pay was pretty generous - 28,000 pounds with 10,000
bonus, for a starting graduate. A lot of people will tolerate a career in
retail stock mangement for that. You can't have everything.

Most interesting programs are written in C. If you want to make innovations
instead of delivering them, it's definitely the language to go for. That's
what I did personally, and it's what I would advise. Ultimately only you can
decide what sort of life you want to lead.
