seems OT; will demonstrate relevance

Elsethread is a discussion of identifiers.

How many times have you had to wipe out a HD and start over. I just thought
of a way to keep gcc running all the time here, but I've forgotten my abra
cadabras over the years.

I need the statments for autoexec.bat and config.sys in order to load
mscdex.exe. (I know the question in its sheer temerity looks OT. Give me a
little rope. MPJ

Very OT. You can find the answers you seek at www.msdn.microsoft.com

Why don't you demonstrate the relevance *before* posting the question?
Or better yet, just ask in a newsgroup where your question might be
topical. But first, you might consider making your question a little
more coherent; I see no internal consistency, let alone any possible
relevance to comp.lang.c. (Identifiers? gcc? autoexec.bat?
Allegro? Huh??)

You win. I shan't demonstrate relevance, ergo OT. MPJ

Is there a reason you shouldn't be plonked for this ridiculous
behavior? I mean, seriously?

I needed 3 lines of code not germane to c. Is it conceivable that such a
query could further the ends of this forum? MPJ

I needed 3 lines of code not germane to c.

Then you lied demonstrating topicality?
Is it conceivable that
such a query could further the ends of this forum?

I have no idea. Wouldn't it have made sense to say what it was upfront,
rather than playing stupid games?

You have addressed the question, why shouldn't you be plonked for your
abusive behavior?

Conceivable, but vanishingly unlikely, and not worth our time to
consider the possibility.

There are a number of places you can go to ask about autoexec.bat and
config.sys. Try a newsgroup with "ms-windows" or "msdos" in its name.
There are dozens of them. This is not one of them. And if you don't
find the information you're looking for, this *still* isn't the place
to complain about it or to ask where else to look.

Please stop wasting our time. Your original question was blatantly
off-topic. And although meta-discussions about topicality are
generally considered topical, I hardly think there's anything more to
be said in this thread. (I'm arguably being hypocritical by posting
this followup, but I'm hoping to educate you and thereby reduce the
total amount of junk in this newsgroup.)

I know this sounds harsh, but given the volume of postings in this
newsgroup we can't afford to tolerate off-topic postings. I think
you've been here long enough to understand that.

Please, don't even acknowledge this response. Just drop it.

Hmmmm, typo there. Should be, "You have not address the question . . ."
