Server not serving ASP to some clients? Including Server itself!

S

Scott Townsend

I have a server that we installed a Web Application (ASP) and It works with
a few clients that we tested, IE 5.5, and it does not work on the server
machine itself.

So we've tested a few thing.

Created a simple file with the contents of <html> <body> Hello World </body>
</html>
Made one with .HTM extension and one with .ASP.

I can see the HTM file from all machines. I can only see the .ASP file on
the machine running IE 5.5
The server itself cannot see the .ASP page. We places the files in the root
of the server web and in the Application folder with the same results.

The Server is running IE 6.6.2800.1106

Any Suggestions?

Thanks,
Scott<-

Did you ever look at that aspfaq.com link I posted in your other thread
about this?

Amazing...

The only 6.6 I am aware of came from Pontiac, housed in a Trans Am body in
1979/80 with a bird on the hood. Perhaps you mean 6.0.2800.1106?

And since I don't know where the other thread is, what does "can see" refer
to since that is not anything ASP specific nor is it a valid error message?

There were some who were lucky enough to get that car with an Olds 403
instead of the Pontiac 400. The 403 was quite torquey!

What model Olds was that? The only one I remember around that time was the
442, actually a few years earlier I think.

It was actually that some of the Pontiacs came with an Olds 403 instead of
the Pontiac 400. I think it was just the Firebirds sold in California or
something. Only the ridiculously, horribly, ugly 77 442 came with the 403,
sadly...
