SMTP mail

Hi Group,
i'm having problems getting CDO.Message to work with SMTP on my Windows 2000
Server. I keep getting the following error:

CDO.Message.1 error '80040213'

The transport failed to connect to the server.

/services/E-CommerceQuote_new.asp, line 2357

I am assuming that it is meaning it can't find the server i have specified
where the SMTP server is, which is the same PC. I have specified by IP and
domain name but i get same error. i know i haven't said much about the setup
im using so if needed i can provided more details.



Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

If it's the same machine, use 127.0.0.1

Also, if you are using 2 / CDOSendUsingPort, try using CDOSendUsingPickup (I
believe that's 1) instead. You might not be able to loopback to your own
machine because of network config issues.

And you can always try sending through exchange, which would require
cdoSendUsingExchange (3).
