I am new to installing J2EE and NetBeans and I just wanted to ask a few
questions. First off, is it that NetBeans queries for J2SE but can
support J2EE once it is installed? I have Borland JBuilder Enterprise
Trial installed along with its J2SE, and can easily switch to
java.sun.com's J2SE, but I guess that there's no difference. Instead of
getting the bundle of NetBeans and J2EE Application Server together, I
downloaded the Application Server straight off java.sun.com and the
plain NetBeans IDE from netbeans.org. The NetBeans installer just found
my J2SE package from Borland and configured NetBeans to use it.
Second question is, even without J2SE installed, can I use the javac
from J2EE, in the %APPSERVER_DIR%\jdk\bin directory? Is it complete, or
is it just internally used?
Thanks and I hope I was clear enough.
