SSL Problem

N

I have an internet site set up for SSL.
This is now in test stage, so I issued a test certificate from out domain
server.

When I access the site from my location (same domain as the issuing server)
the security warning comes up in about 2 seconds.
When the site is accessed from some other domain including the domain where
it is installed, the application takes several minutes to bring up the
untrusted certificate warning message. After the users accepts the
certificate the rest of the response is normal.

I am new to using certificates, so I must be missing something.
Does anyone have an idea what is happening?

Thanks

Do the client machines in the different domains have the same set of
Trusted Root Certificate Authorities? I think you're basically seeing a
difference in the SSL negotiation time between the clients trying to figure
out if the server is presenting a certificate that's in the client's
Trusted Root Certificate Authorities list.

The best solution is to add the server's certificate to each clients list
of Trusted Root Certificate Authorities if possible. This way you won't
receive the warning pop-up.

You can take a look at this MS KB article as well:
