You can go for a time slot interchange switch for telecom field . this
will help you in future also.

hi kusuma u didnt reply me..thats ok..atleast get the idea of the project whcih i am doing..ofcourse mr.anupam has suggested 2 do that project..i was told by some one to do that project..but it is time taking and expensive..and most of all not a final year project type..so think ur self..bye!!

How about a simple four or eight bit microcontroller. You will need to
pick the scope carefully so that you don't wind up with more than you
can handle. Pick the instructions you want to implement, such as add,
subtract, shift, compare, etc.

A micro controller would require many of the concepts of VHDL,
including hierarchy, busses, math, etc. As an extra challenge make
sure your logic is synthesizable.

A quick search will probably even provide some examples that you can
learn from or use as a starting point. Just be sure that it is your
own work as teachers can easily tell if an existing design has been
copied.
