text message IM .Net webservice ??

I was wondering ... Is this possible?

Say I have a phone that supports text messaging, would it be possible
send and recieve text with my web server?

Really what I'm trying to do is send text instructions to the web
service to go look up and return sql2000 data from the web database on
the webserver from my cell phone.

Any idea on how might be able to do this?

I can't host email, nor will the phone have a wap browser.
