To empty the log with log4j

Hello,

excuse me in advance for my poor english...

I use "log4j" and I have a "FileAppender appender" (defined in
"log4j.properties").

Please, do you know how to "empty / reinit" this log ?
Is it possible to do this with log4j method ?
If not, what is the "cleanest" mean ?

Any help would be highly appreciated.
