Hi,
I'm running the button_with_tool-tip example from http://fxruby.org/doc/ch03s04.html.
Hovering over the button produces no tool-tip. Ditto for a couple of
other FxRuby button/tool-tip examples.
The weird thing is that FxRuby tool-tips were working yesterday.
I made one change to my system today: I changed a Registry datum: I
changed EditFlags from 8 to 0 in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes
\rbwFile. That change enabled the Advance button in the Folder
Options dialog of Windows Explorer for the filename extension .rbw.
In turn, I was then able to assign the IDE "SciTE" to an Edit entry
in the context menu of an .rbw filename in Windows Explorer.
I just brought up Excel and Word to confirm that the tooltip mechanism
of Windows is not broken, so I don't think it's an OS problem.
I'm running WinXP/SP2 (up-to-date with Microsoft updates) and Ruby
186-26_rc2. I'm using Prev-X for virus protection (the best in class
on the planet, IMHO). I don't visit any virus havens like porn sites
and encryption-cracker site, so I don't think my system is infected.
I'm out of ideas. Any suggestions on what to try?
Thanks in Advance,
Richard
