Hello there,
I have tried 000webhost and have enjoyed the experience. It's a great
free web hosting solution.

I did notice however when I tried to validate my code it would show
me extra code that is posted
to a page from 000webhost. If you don't mind that,,, you will like
this host as well.

Cheers

I would never accept that, even if _they_ paid _me_! My markup shall be
degraded by no infidels.

It's their misguided and mismarked up implementation of Google
Analytics. There is a space where you can go in the Control Panel to
have that removed.

I don't get this whole "fee Web hosting" thing. I pay 5 dollars a
month, 60 bucks a year, for hosting and registration of 2 domains. I
get more services and capacity than I'll ever use. If someone is
serious about this, even, like me, as a hobby, 5 bucks a month? I
spend 5 bucks a DAY at Starbucks! Yeah, yeah, I know, I'm better off
than many. Still, geez, putting up with all this nonsense? Maybe
it's time to get a new hobby. Not talking about you, Nered, just the
whole concept.

I agree. 5 bucks/mo _is_ pretty cheap, though, even today. There are
still some hosts out there charging like $19.95/mo for 500 megs, etc. And
some of those 5-buckers really do suck. But your point (-and mine) is why
put-up with crap when the "good stuff" is so reasonably-priced, and in
that I concur. It's just finding it.

only (very mild) complaint I have is that they would ugrade their Apache
version.

Are they using cPanel? If so, that's probably why they stick with the
older Apache version. cPanel 11 supposedly runs under Apache 2.x, but
last I heard there were still some bugs to be ironed out.

I have the "Home" package for 4 domains.

And their servers are fast. Just click my link in my sig. About the
only (very mild) complaint I have is that they would ugrade their
Apache version. There are a couple things I'd like to play with in
an .htaccess file that are only supported in more recent versions of
Apache. But, no deal breaker for sure.

Yes, it looks pretty good. Trouble is I already have an "axtra" host so
to speak. But I'll keep them in mind for next time. My newest host seems
ok so far, too.

My biggest problem of late is finding shared hosting were they reject
the old SSLv2 protocol on their servers for this dang PCI Compliance.
Not sure why any hosting company would bother with the vintage '94
protocol, nobody is browsing the web on a Win3.01 and IE3.0, or atleast
if they are they ain't buying anything!

I really don't know much about that but last weekend while I was browsing
thru a bunch of host companies, I saw at least one mention SSL in their
list of goodies. The host Ed Mullen recommends has something called
"proxy ssl encryption" but only for the bigger packages. Whether it's the
same or not, ..?

Sounds like they're trying to capitalize on something that was once free.
Wouldn't be the first time...
