what is full name of operating system UNIX?

Unix. It was coined by Brian Kernighan as a play on Multics,
a multi-user OS developed by GE and others (including, for
a time, Bell Labs). The idea was that Unix would run on
machines small enough for use by one person -- an uncommon
thing three and a half decades ago.

BTW, Multics is essentially an acronym for some forgettable
combination of things like "multi user" and "control system",
IIRC.

Many Unusually Large Tables In Core Simultaneously

(I'm sure Multics is actually a paragon in its memory usage by todays
standards!)

I read somewhere, a long time ago, that when Ken Thompson demonstrated
the yet-to-be named OS that Mr. Kerninghan exclaimed something like "Ha,
it's a castrated Multics!"
