upgrading Perl / solaris 5.7

Perl 5.005_02 on the system i want to upgrade to
perl_s-5.8.5-sol9-sparc-local.gz are there any issues i need to worry
about or can i simply do a pkgadd??

Add your own version somewhere else (blastwave package, source
to /usr/local) and symlink /usr/bin/perl accordingly.
