not reply.

Though I don't condone spam or the OP's conduct, looking over the OP's
orkut group, it doesn't seem as if the OP is making any profits from
it. The OP also does not appear be representing a business,
organisation or a legal entity.

In fact, Google mail account holders in general are regular offenders in
this group, and Google will do nothing to stop them. Hence my blanket
killfiling thereof (with anti-killfiling measures in place for those
few Google mail account holders such as yourself who are obvious
exceptions to the general rule).
The best response is to not reply.

A better response still is not to read such articles in the first place.

Ridiculous. You immediately cut off a heap of people who have no usenet
access. To killfile someone is a single key or so.

(Not so) many moons ago, AOL users found themselves killfiled en masse by
many users of usenet and other services, because AOL seemed unwilling to
do anything about the abuses of their service.

Locally, a lot of Shaw customers found themselves banned from many IRC
servers, because Shaw was running open proxies, allowing spammers free
reign - blocking Shaw in toto was seen as the only viable option.

If google users, on the whole, aren't desirable and google won't do
anything to fix the problem, then google gets blocked, even if it means
losing the occasional good poster.

I find it amusing to note, on a vaguely related subject, that google's
mailers got themselves blacklisted for spam by at least one RBL. Wonder
how that affected those companies using google's hosted email?
