using IIS from anywhere

Hi,
If I have a staric ip and if my pc is online can host a web page
written in ASP? And if the first quesiton is possible can i set-up a
mail server? Do I need a domain for this??
Can you explain how or can you tell me how to find the information...?

1. Register a domain. www.godaddy.com
2. Use your registrar's DNS services to point your domain to your IP
3. Put your ASP files in %systemroot%\inetpub\wwwroot
4. Go to http://www.yourdomain.com after a few days (wait for DNS
propegation)

In the meantime, you can go to http://localhost or http://yourIP

For e-mail, well, this certainly goes beyond the scope of an ASP group.
When you ask in a more appropriate group, perhaps an IIS group, be sure to
indicate what operating system you're running.

in addition, if your ISP doesn't have you setup for a "business" account
they may block ports (I know that Charter does it by me) Your server will
run but it wont be accessible. Just thought I'd mention.
