Does microsoft Visual C++6.0 works well with Windows XP?
[This newsgroup is very strict about staying on-topic, and since this
query is not specific to ISO Standard C, I'm sure you will get more than
a few complaints about this. You might do better in an MSVC specific
newsgroup, of which there are several. That means even this reply is
off-topic.]

[Follow-up set]

Inasmuch as MSVC 6.0 can be described as "working well" we compile our
win32 code on XP all the time. Trying to make portable, standard C code
compile under 6.0 is a big PITA, but your typical sorta-C compiled as
C++ that we all seem to inherit compiles fine under a variety of Windows
releases.

There may be some dark corners, however.
