VPN or Shared Hosting for online shop

I have started my business years ago. First, I was hosting my online shop with Shared Hosting, but I was suggested by my hosting provider to move to VPN.
VPN is more expensive, so I am thinking now, is it worth to move from Shared Hosting to VPN? Or this is only my hosting provider attemt to get more money from me?

It depends how much traffic you will be getting through your shop. I don't know what your budget is but, vps would be better. I think you mean vps not vpn.
