Why isn't METADATA include working?

Hi all,

I've put this in global.asa:

<!-- METADATA
TYPE="typelib"
FILE="E:\Program Files\Common Files\System\ado\msado27.tlb"
-->

But I'm still getting "Variable is undefined: 'adCmdStoredProc' "

I've also tried using the UUID with a similar result.

Where can I start looking to troubleshoot this?
