wp as xml ed

Hi all,

I use emacs nxml-mode for my xml needs, but I am looking to work within
companies and want an application that doen't appear threatening to them.
I happened to have a copy of wordperfect 11 lying around and thought to
give it a whirl.

It wants a compiled version of a dtd, but I can't get the compiler to
agree to open the docbook dtds I have on my computer, even the one that
comes with wordperfect.

my question is does anyone have a compiled version of a newer docbook dtd
for wordperfect.

Also is there anyone on the list who has/is us/ed/ing wordperfect for xml
authoring?

WordPerfect's editor isn't too bad, although its SGML heritage shows
through in places. The DTD compiling is a royal PITA though. It took me
several goes to make it work, and you have to fix a couple of things in
the entity declarations that WP's parser gags on. Unfortunately I can't
give you an exact pointer as it's at least 5 years since I did it. I do
remember that the error messages were less than helpful, though.

As an interface it's a little cumbersome but it certainly works, and
there have been a number of comments over the years from people who have
installed it as the default editor for several academic projects. One of
WP's biggest advantages is that once you have styled a document type,
you can open a document with it and Save As...Word, which lets you give
users of that unfortunate system a document they can open
