Global Business Intelligence (BI) vendor, Yellowfin, has launched its
new iPad application that allows full access to its easy-to-use BI
solution on the move.
BI software gathers, analysis and reports a range of data to help
businesses identify trends and opportunities and support fundamental
decision-making.
Yellowfin’s iPad application means that users have the ability to run
and access all of Yellowfin’s real-time reporting and analytics
capabilities from the iPad.
Yellowfin for the iPad also supports the iPad’s native multi-touch
interface and has been engineered to take full advantage of the iPad’s
large screen and functionality features.
“The ingenious aspect of this application is that the iPad uses
existing Yellowfin report content, so there’s no need to re-create
content for the mobile platform, or repackage it for mobile
distribution,” said Yellowfin CEO, Glen Rabie.
“Customers gain the benefits of mobile BI immediately. But this is
more than just mobile BI, it’s true device independence.”
Users can simply log into their existing Yellowfin account via a 3G or
Wifi network via their iPad.
“You can access the latest data in the same way as you would from your
PC, email and comment on reports, filter results, drill down and
through data with the flexibility to make business decisions wherever,
and whenever you need to,” said Rabie.
Yellowfin’s 100 per cent Web-based service also means that no data is
stored on the mobile device. Combined with their mobile BI password
protection system, security from unauthorized access to business data
is assured, even if the device is lost or stolen.
The mobile BI market segment is just emerging, but with the
proliferation of handheld mobile devices, access to BI functionality
from the pockets of employees will soon become the norm.
