You said "code here below does compile with gcc and it does work
correctly". I pointed out that it was not legitimate code. And
why do you quote signatures?

.... "Please don't quote peoples signatures", "why do you quote
signatures",... sorry but I don't understand what's the problem... I
just clicked "reply". That's it. Is there any rules I should take care
of?

No. Although it is a courtesy to strip signatures when you reply to
shorten the "replied to text". At least 2 main stream newsreaders will
not do this automatically with Mr CBFalconer's signatures because he is
too pigheaded to move to a news server which does not append a second
signature. He has been asked repeatedly to correct this in light of the
fact that he is a serial net nanny and takes a lot of delight in
lecturing others on how they should post and what rules they should
follow. As you just discovered. Ignore him or killfile him. It is for
the best. You will find there are a small section of posters in this NG
who feel the rules do not apply to them.

Yes. Everything following the "-- " marker above is my sig. It
should be clipped from any reply. The first appearance of "\n__\n"
in the message is the end of the message, and everything following
is signature. Once quoted it is no longer a sig. marker. Sigs
serve to handle discreet advertising, promulgation of email
addresses, etc. and need not be topical.
