File Extension

All,

Who knows how can we make the IE open the file with some non-standard
extension?

I have a new file type, say .MOX, I corrected the association on my computer
for this file extension, when I click on it it opens me my own program and
the program takes this file as a command line argument reading data from it.
That's simple.

When we download the file from ASPX page and the file has a standard
extension like .DOC or .ZIP, IE starts the appropriate application to work
with this file. When we click the link with the file IE wants us to Save or
Open this file on our computer. But if we click the link with the file with
this new extension IE only wants to save this file. Why?

How can we make IE to start an appropriate application with this file? Maybe
some additional strings should be added to the registry to do that?

One more detail. If I start the ASPX page on my machine either in debug or
release mode, but on localhost, IE wants me to Open or Save my file, but
when I upload the app to our HTTPS server and open the same ASPX page from
there the option Open disappears, I guess because of the security settings.
I can't believe that it's impossible to correct this situation, but how? IE
is able to open all Office files even if they are downloaded from the
Internet. What about my own custom files? Is it about these keys:

BrowserFlags 0x00000008 (8)
EditFlags 0x00010000 (65536)
