Are you inserting the quoted text manually? I think Google, if you
use it properly, prefixes each quoted line with "> ", not just ">".
It also adds correct attribution lines, which your followups often
lack.
Surely you've been here long enough to see these instructions:
If you want to post a followup via groups.google.com, don't use
the broken "Reply" link at the bottom of the article. Click on
"show options" at the top of the article, then click on the
"Reply" at the bottom of the article headers.
