As tools get higher level, it becomes easier and easier to write whatever
was envisaged by the tool designer, and harder and harder to do something
different.

Off-topically, both of you would perhaps not look as foolish if you did
proper research before you posted about a subject. Tetris, anyone?

On-topically, there is even a C compiler (actually, IIRC it's a
pre-compiler, BICBW) targeting the ZMachine, but I don't know whether
it's ISO or K&R.
