How do you actually DO anything?

Apparently you don't "naturally" know how to code. (As some can just sing
like a bird). If you're asking the question, maybe you should either buy a
lotto ticket or prepare for a lifetime of endeavor. There is no
short-circuit to being good at anything. I challenge you to pick up a guitar
and play it. Nuff said. You can't just go and buy ProEngineer and be an
engineer. Those things were created FOR engineers. You have to be one before
you can be one!

That's a nice theory - except professional singers take lessons, too.

Either you are naturally pessimistic or just see something from my
posts to indicate I'm not a "natural" programmer. I believe my problem
is twofold:

1. I don't understand how the framework that I am building software
for works;
2. I don't understand how algorithms that drive the program.

I can fix both of those. I think your pessimism is unfounded.

I didn't mean you specifically but every programmer/programmer-to-be in
general has to put in the time to learn how to program. Sure, it will be
easier for some than others, but no one innately knows how to program in a
language. So if you were looking for a quick-path/fast-track to becoming a
good C++ programmer (and because of the language shortcomings, that may be
an oxymoron), there isn't one.
