I wasn't refering to you. I just pointed out that this was sort-of a

I am attempting to convey what I believe was the consensus on p5p,
in the hope that people here might find the information useful.
"You should not do this" is no useful information: That's the way how
parents deal with their children and even there, it is IMHO more often
than not completely inappropriate. In my opinion, programming is (or
should rather be) a science and not an art and in particular, it
shouldn't be considered 'some kind of weird magic' where arcance and
not understood statements are muttered in order to achieve an effect
in a way no one understands because they're part of the ancient lore
which came to us from our so much more wise ancestors. This implies
that, if you publish an opinion on a topic I consider to be relevant,
I'm very likely going to ask for the reasoning behind it and will
usually criticize that if it seems lacking to me (which may very well
be my own fault, but I can't understand why I'm at fault by blindly
accepting someone else's opinion should because it is his opinion).
