IE and moz have got JS enabled and f&%#ed if i'm going to enable JS so
CSS works for opera, i may as well use NS4.x

it still doesn't work with opera with JS anyway

opera 7.23.3227

That's what I see for Clip 1. Clip 2 works fine.

But I just realised that I am still using O7.21 anyway. I'm sure I
installed 7.23. :-( Must learn to check that first.

Will install 7.23 and see whether it still happens.

i get the same blank box thingy for both clips

i'm really getting sick of the GUI bugs and crashes. opera 7.5b has been
floating around for a while so hopefully they've fixed them.

7.23 is exactly the same as 7.21 here. Weird. I notice the OP has some
sort of crappy browser-detection script going on, but telling Opera to
identify as IE6 doesn't make a difference, so it doesn't seem to be
anything to do with that.

That first IE screenshot is very puzzling.

i just reinstalled IE *.1633 and its working
The second IE and Moz shots are exactly as I get on my own system,
but to see such a disparity between different builds of IE6 - that's
impressive even for M$!

i assume one of the security updates i installed was a bit iffy. its not
unusual for security updates to not install properly (and not work).
NS4.x liked changing the way pages were rendered when unrelated patches
were installed. M$ probably just picked the habit up from NS.
Support for clipping is obviously still very much inadequate
across browsers...

Are you saying that Opera requires JS to be enabled for CSS to work?

It doesn't. The example page uses JavaScript though.

And in my Opera 7.23, the example page fails. And JS is enabled.

Ditto Opera 7.5p1.
