You had your function written for you, and Evertjan has very patiently
tried to explain to you how it works. You didn't even bother to learn
basic JavaScript syntax, and now you're complaining.
Talk about poor form...

cheers,
stefan

First, you are making an assumption about who "poor form" is directed
toward.
Secondly, you clearly failed to read his last post were he stated that
there
are "miriad" [sic] options to choose from to complete the solution;
this is not
what I asked about. I had exactly the same results with my own half-
baked
solution as I did spending 2 days with the one posted here. I asked a
direct
question for which I expected a direct answer, not quasi-Socratic
pedagogy.
This is an absurd and disrespectful environment. I am considered an
expert
in my own field of work, and would never handle a request for help in
this manner.
You don't need to learn Chinese before you go to a Chinese restaurant;
and you
don't have to understand how a watch works to use one. You should not
have to
become a Javascript code-wizard to get a straight answer here!

You can keep your arrogant resentment of my ignorance in a box and
look at
whenever you want to in the future. I for one purchased a book last
night and
learned more in 10 minuted than I did in 2 days here with you
"experts".

Cheers indeed! Adios.

Damn. I’ve been reading this group for more than 2 *years* and I did
not learn *anything* about purchasing books in all that time. What a
waste. Sometimes, a fresh perspective is all you really need.
"experts".

There you go…
