who is this ip?

hi,
i have anormous hit from an ip (220.181.61.224) to my site. so i should
ban this user but how can i be sure it not to be a serach engine or
indexing service robot?

You can find the block by using either arin, apnic or ripe, depending on
which part of the world they are in. As far as determining what they are
doing, you can run through the logs and see the hits. If the hits are very
quick, it is some form of bots.

Before banning, I would consider a port scan logging utility and watch if
this person it slamming other ports on your machine, as well. That is a
fairly sure sign of a hacker.
