Self-censorship at best. One person is avoiding your posts, someone who
likely has no desire to read them whether they see them or not. What is

I don't see an attitude problem, at least not with Brucie. I was also a bit
taken aback when I first read his posts (here and in AWW), but now I look
forward to them. In an unrelated NG, which I rarely visit now, several
regulars constantly belittle other people in an apparent attempt to prop up
their shaky egos, and they never have anything useful to say. Brucie isn't
like that at all. His posts are in 3 main categories (some in more than
one):
(a) Providing answers
(b) Playing around
(c) Informing people when they haven't followed the group's posting
conventions, or when they say something stupid
I just feel that if he
: (they) can't answer the question, just go on to the next message and skip
: the reply.
You're probably reacting to type (c), with a mixture of (b). Post the way
this group posts, and you'll get (a) and (b).
Another thing to keep in mind is that Brucie has a quota to fill. He has to
offend at least one person a week. If you can be that person once, you've
saved another uninformed newbie from having your reaction. ;-)
Really, he's OK. He used the "f" word the first time he replied to one of my
posts, but I wasn't offended because I knew what to expect. I don't always
agree with his opinions, but he sure knows what he's talking about.

No, what happened was you jumped in, asked a question, you were too
impatient to wait for an answer, then jumped at brucie for correcting
you. So rather than answering a question from a "newbie" we defended
one of the regulars.
